What is 3D Laser Scanning?
Laser scanners capture up to 1 million measurement points per second over distances of 200 metres or more. This creates a highly detailed 3D “point cloud” of the surroundings – walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and more. If you stand still long enough, you’ll even appear in it!
Why does it matter?
3D laser scanning allows us to quickly and accurately record spaces of any scale – from a single room to an entire building, and even city streets. The results can then be used for:
